LUCTONIANS recently hosted their 26th annual Anglo-Welsh Mini Festival, and in doing so welcomed around 1,000 young rugby players and over 3,000 visitors in total on the day.

The festival saw boys and girls from six to 12 years old compete across six age grades, with 92 teams from 16 clubs visiting the event this year.

Teams arrived from as close as Ledbury and Hereford and as far as Tetbury and Towcester, from Wrexham in the north of Wales, to Cardiff in the south.

The annual Herefordshire event is still one of the largest mini rugby festivals of its kind in the country and requires over 120 volunteers to put it on.

Despite the wet and muddy conditions the children all seemed to have enjoyed themselves and the club look forward to hosting them all again next year.
