WESTFIELDS were in impressive form when they netted seven goals during an emphatic demolition of Tuffley Rovers.

Fields were in an unforgiving mood as Josh Hunt scored a hat-trick and Daniel Stoneman a brace against basement side Rovers.

Phil Glover’s side opened the scoring after only four minutes when Adam Wakely volleyed home a Sean Powell throw-in.

Westfields were causing problems to the Tuffley defence with wingers Archie Muirhead and Stoneman in sparkling form.

The hosts increased their lead in the 16th minute when Stoneman and Joe Davies set up a chance for Hunt who turned smartly inside the penalty area and beat the Tuffley keeper with a low drive to double his side’s lead.

Westfields kept up relentless pressure and on the stroke of half-time Steve Davies put an inviting cross into the Tuffley penalty area and Hunt dived to powerfully head home a picture goal to give his side a 3-0 half-time lead.

After the break it was much the same story as Westfields carried on their attacking game and man of the match Hunt got his hat-trick when he fired home powerfully from outside the box to put Westfields 4-0 ahead.

Youngster Muirhead got himself on the score sheet with a low drive from 12 yards out as Westfields made it 5-0 on 58 minutes.

Stoneman who had tormented the Tuffley Rovers defence all afternoon then grabbed a sixth goal with a fine shot from an acute angle.

Not finished in the dying minutes of the match Stoneman grabbed a seventh goal to cap a fine individual performance beating three defenders before shooting low into the Tuffley net.

The victory leaves Westfields in fourth position in the Hellenic Premier Division League table with nine matches remaining.

Fields are back at Allpay Park this weekend when they host 18th placed side Chipping Sodbury Town when Glover will be hoping for another ruthless performance from his side.
