OVER 300 runners took to the rolling Herefordshire country lanes in the 10-kilometre Christmas race, hosted by Hereford Couriers.

Ben Jones (Cambridge & Coleridge) Hereford runner Addy Carter showed their impressive form to take victories.

Jones had an impressive run leading from start to finish crossed the line to set a winning time of 32 minutes and 47 seconds.

Eric Apperley (Croft Ambrey RC) led the chasers home taking second in 34-25 while Dan Geisler was just 11 seconds further behind in third.

In the women’s race the ever-improving Hereford Courier Carter won in a time of 40 minutes and 20 seconds.

She finished 29 seconds ahead of Megan Judge (Black Pear Joggers) in second while Sophie Cook (Builth & District Runner) was third.

Hereford Couriers won the women’s team prize with their team including Carter, Joanna Eddy, Jess Sulivan and Laura Hands.

Croft Ambrey RC men’s team of Apperley, Gareth Leek, Mark Lamonby and Sam Juson helped the team in blue clinch the men’s team award.

Other Herefordshire category winners included: Eva Tyler (Hereford & County AC) under-17 female; Gareth Leek (Croft Ambrey RC) senior male; Laura Hands (Hereford Couriers) senior female; Jess Sullivan (Hereford Couriers) veteran 35 female; Joanna Eddy (Hereford Couriers) veteran 45 female; Andrew Tyler (Hereford Couriers) veteran 50 male; Martin Carter (Hereford Couriers) veteran 55 male; Nikki Childs (Wye Valley Runners) veteran 60 female; Sue Wood (Croft Ambrey RC) veteran 65 female; Steve Herrington (Hereford Couriers) veteran 70 male; Brian Symonds (Wye Valley Runners) veteran 80 male.
