HEREFORD FC are giving youngsters the chance to watch ‘live local football’ by releasing £5 adult and child tickets during home matches throughout the season.

The scheme is in partnership with the Herefordshire Football Association and will see 100 tickets for each applicable home fixture made available to schools, clubs and youth organisations.

Hereford are repeating the offer for the ‘majority’ of home matches for the remainder of the season after the success of the club’s ‘football for a fiver offer’, which added to the bumper crowd of 3,240 watching the 2-1 victory against AFC Fylde.

James Smith, HFC commercial director said that the scheme will help enable more Herefordshire children to watch live football.

He said: ‘’Hereford FC are pleased to be working in partnership with the HFA in launching this scheme to encourage more local youth players to watch live local football. We hope that we can develop "Fans for the Future" that can continue to enjoy watching great local football for years to come.’’

Alan Darfi, Herefordshire FA chief executive, says that the scheme will ensure people have “great football experiences”.

He added: ‘’We are delighted to be supporting HFC with this new scheme, which will hopefully get more young people into the habit of watching local football more regularly, ensuring people have great football experiences and remain involved in the game we all love, however they wish to do so’’

Tickets are limited and in the event of oversubscription the Herefordshire FA will contact all groups to confirm how the winners will be selected.
