WESTFIELDS returning to winning ways after two draws with a 3-1 home victory against Shrivenham.

Phil Glover’s side had to recover from an early setback when the visitors took a fifth minute lead with Zac Skinner heading home.

Fields responded and were level in the 36th minute when Dan Stoneman got free on the right and his accurate cross was turned home by Archie Muirhead to level the scores going into the break.

After the interval Westfields began to dictate but couldn’t break down a stout visitors’ defence in which goalkeeper Sam Ayers was in sparkling form.

However, in the 75th minute Stoneman got free on the right and his cross was turned home by Muirhead for his second of the afternoon.

Muirhead was then denied his hat-trick when his curling shot from the edge of the penalty area rattled against the upright with Ayres beaten in the visitors’ goal.

Westfields introduced then Josh Hunt into the attack from the substitutes’ bench along with Ryan Hillyer and Kyle Cassell and the trio added additional pace to the attack.

Fields settled the points with a third goal with two minutes left on the clock when Stoneman capped a fine display with a goal of his own.
