THREE professional Hereford boxers will be representing the county when they fight in a show this Saturday.

Liam O’Hare, Danny Williams and Cliff Henry will all be taking on opponents at the Regent Circus in Swindon for a boxing show.

After four wins in as many fights super welterweight O’Hare is taking on his toughest opponent yet in the form of Russian fighter Vasif Mamedov.

“I definitely want to make it 5-0,” said O’Hare.

“I’m facing a Russian fighter based in the UK, but I’m expected him to be a tough opponent. It will be over six rounds and I’m hoping for a bit of a challenge.”

O’Hare, who can also fight at middleweight, hopes a victory over Mamedov will help set him up for a shot at the Midlands title fight next year.

“After this fight I’m going to have a break as I’ve been quite active recently,” added O’Hare.

“Hopefully I can then have one warm-up fight before going for the Midlands title but my fight manager will deal with all of that.”

Meanwhile, Williams will be taking on his second professional fight since moving into the professional game from the amateur ranks.

Henry is also fairly new to professional boxing and will be taking on his first six round professional fight.

All three boxers are coached by Tony Chadwick, out of the City of Hereford Boxing Academy.

“It’s been good for us to all be in camp at the same time,” added O’Hare.

“We’ve been constantly pushing each other and sparring really well. We’re hoping for a good atmosphere on the night with supporters from Hereford.
