HOT on the heels of the England’s Lioness’ European Championship win, Bloor Homes has announced its continued shirt sponsorship of Westfields FC Women team for a third year.

Bloor Homes’ Western region is happy to continue its support for the local women’s team. Steve Roberts, managing director said: “As a company we are great supporters of local football for all ages - youth, women’s and men’s teams and are aware of the many benefits of sport from fitness and mental wellbeing to bringing communities together.

“Girls and women’s football has gained momentum certainly over the last two decades and we are proud to support several female teams across the region. The result from England’s Lionesses is testament to what can be achieved when players are given opportunity and support at a grass roots level. We wish the Westfields FC Women all the best for their coming season.”

According to the Football Association, in 2002 football had become the top participation sport for women and girls in England. Twenty years on there are leagues and competitions at all ages and levels in women’s football.

Westfields Women play in Division One South of the West Midlands Womens’ Football League.

Westfields CEO Andrew Morris said: “It’s fantastic that Bloor Homes is supporting Westfields FC Women for a third year.

“All sponsorship at a grass roots level is always massively appreciated, but ongoing sponsorship means we don’t have to find a new shirt sponsor each year, and as volunteers we can use our energy and resources on other aspects of running the women’s team.”
