SECOND half goals from Josh Hunt and defender Joe Davies earnt Westfiels back-to-back league victories as they beat Hereford Pegasus 2-0.

Phil Glover’s side hit the post in a goal-less first half before Hunt eventually gave them a 51st minute lead and then Davies secured the win heading home a corner with 25 minutes left on the clock.

A crowd of 238 were treated to an entertaining encounter and as the first half wore on Westfields probed for an opener with Dan Stoneman running free down the right wing crossing for Harrison Iddles who fired his effort over.

Moments later Fields broke again from the other side and Matt McDonald sent his effort over. McDonald then looked to make up for his miss moments later but saw his effort from range fly wide.

A goalmouth scramble saw Michael Burgess clear the ball off the Pegasus goal-line before coming out to Jack Gittoes who rattled the post from close range.

Moments before the break a ball into the box found Connor Davies-Austin who saw his effort blocked by central defender Joe Davies.

Early in the second half Jordan Williamson broke for the visitors threaded his ball out to Carlos Moreira who forced goalkeeper Ian Havard into action.

Straight up the other end Jack Gittoes was almost through on goal but saw his run tracked by the last defender.

Moreira beat Iddles for pace breaking clear inside the Westfields half but failed to connect with his effort which Havard saved.

On 51 minutes Fields were ahead when Gittoes found space down the right before floating the ball onto the foot of Hunt to finish the opener.

Pegasus looked to hit back immediately and Luke Griffiths for Pegasus broke pulling the ball back for Moreira who was denied by Havard stealing the ball off his toes.

Pegasus substitute Jamie Price then saw his low free-kick take a defected into the arms of Havard.

However, on the 65th minute a McDonald corner was met by defender Davies who steered his header into the Pegasus net to double their advantage.

With 15 minutes remaining Fields almost had another goal with a looping Stoneman effort which was picked out by goalkeeper Gwynne.

Moments later McDonald’s corner was flicked on by a stooping Ryan Green header but the veteran defender saw his effort hit the post with the goalkeeper left watching.

Goal scorer Davies was then in action at the other end sweeping away a dangerous ball inside the box and clearing it to safety.

Moreira was finishing the game strongly and ran into the box in space before covering defender Davies blocked his effort.
