TEENAGER Mark Derricott has impressed Hereford manager Josh Gowling in the opening weeks of pre-season.
The defender was part of the Hereford under-18 side last year and was given a first team opportunity.
He played in the second half during Saturday’s 1-0 friendly defeat at Hednesford Town.

“Out of the kids so far in pre-season he’s been the one for me that has really improved from even last season,” said Gowling.
“He looks a part of the first team at the moment. The good thing with Mark and Justice (Campbell) they’ve been with us long enough now to know what we want.
“Mark I’d like him with us, I think he’s been brilliant, come through the community team and shows what a good youth set-up can do.”
Teenage Westfields forward Harrison Summers is another player Gowling is casting his eye over during pre-season.
“He’s got good energy levels, he’s tidy on the ball and he’s got confidence beyond his youth. He’s been in with us training as well so he’s one we’re looking at along with Mark (Derricott),” added Gowling.
The Bulls boss says he has ‘spots to fill’ with six trialists featuring during Hereford’s match at Hednesford.
