BARTESTREE and Lugwardine CC completed a double over Herefordshire rivals Burghill, Tillington & Weobley CC with both their first and second teams coming away with victories.

The firsts met in their Worcestershire County League Division Two clash.

Changes in length and some genuinely impressive fast bowling wreaked havoc on the Burghill top order reducing them to 36-5.

Adam Davies was the pick of the bowlers finishing on 4-50.

However, Whizz Ettinger hit a respectable 83 from 117 balls to put his side back into the battle.

But some clever bowling and improved fielding (Andy Jones rolling the ball into the stumps for a run out rather than run it over) saw the innings go from 176-7 to 178 all out in 47.4 overs meaning Bartestree got two extra overs which turned out to be vital.

Despite losing early wickets in reply a re-build from Ben Simpkin (35) and Ryan Trattell (36) saw Bartestree to 123-7, still needing 56 for the win and overs running out.

The two extra overs were crucial as Adam Davies (38) and Sam Bowen (8) won the game with two balls left.

Bartestree seconds are top of Division Seven after a 61-run win over Burghill seconds.

Ryan Clements hit 88 as his side set a target of 277 which the visitors fell short of.
