AN UNBEATEN hit of 82 for Bartestree & Lugwardine skipper Ryan Trattell helped his side to a three-wicket victory over Astwood Bank seconds.

After winning the toss and electing to field Bartestree saw their Worcestershire County League Division Two opponents declare on 242/8 off 48 overs.

Pick of the home bowlers was Will Maund who took 3-55 but the hosts still had a tough chase on their hands.

After losing three wickets for 58 runs in response the revised target of 243 looked a tough one.

However, Maund (36) and Trattell (82no) propelled their side to victory.

Despite the win Bartestree dropped a place into the bottom two but closed the gap on a pack of teams ahead of them.

Also in Division Two, Burghill, Tillington and Weobley were beaten by four wickets by Belbroughton after being bowled out for 149.

After being put into bat opener Jack Stockdale hit 37 but as wickets constantly fell only a half century by wicket keeper Luke Powell could help his side.

A Herefordshire derby saw Bromyard beaten by 40 runs to Brockhampton in the Premier Division.

After being put into bat Brockhampton had a consistent innings with openers Adam Hewlett (29) and Sam Johnston (25) putting on 57 for the first wicket.

Tobias Van Den Heever (40) and a half century by Charlie Williams boosted their total.

In reply Bromyard captain John Parker (46) and Greg Leighton (43) put up a fight but they were bowled out for 229.

Colwall suffered a losing draw after seeing Astwood Bank first post a target of 309/3.

In response Colwall held on to finish on 71/8 off the reduced 46 overs.
