COLWALL Cricket Club will be celebrating their

150th anniversary with a cricket festival.

A week of events is planned between July 15 and July 29 to celebrate the occasion.

The main celebration event will be a prestigious match against the world renowned Marylebone Cricket Club who are more commonly known as the M.C.C. with their home ground being Lord’s.

Colwall first team regular Richard Howitt is a member of the M.C.C. club and has kindly helped to arrange the fixture which will be held on Friday, July 15.

The match will start at 11am and although plans are at an early stage the club are likely to have some form of hospitality during the game with of course a bar.

During the tea interval or possibly straight after the game we would like to take an anniversary photograph of all the club members which will include all senior and junior players along with all other membership categories.

This could number over 250 people so the club are investigating the use of drone technology to execute the necessary shots and videos which will be a fitting tribute to the 150th anniversary.

In the evening of July 15 there will be a marquee based event on the Ghost Meadow pitch which will include live music, DJ, bar and food.

The event will be open to all members, their friends and Colwall residents.
