HAY-ON-Wye sit top of the Marches League Division Two after a battling winning draw at Ross-on-Wye.

The visitors opened the batting with opener Luke Bowen (80) along with wicket keeper Daniel Bwen hitting 54 from 103 balls as they set a 212-9 off 45 overs.

In reply Ross-on-Wye openers Stuart Mair (51) and Angus McIntyre (52) put on a first wicket stand of 110 before time ran out as they reached 179-3.

Reigning champions Wormelow have work to do but beat Ledbury by seven wickets at Kennelfield. After being invited to bat first Ledbury posted 155-6 from their 45 overs, Tom Hill (28no) top scored with James Powell picking up 2-27 from his 10 overs.

In reply Wormelow eased to the required total in 24 overs, David Thomas (55no) led the way with good support from the Langford family, Oliver (46), Archie (27no) and Jamie (15) who all contributed, Duncan Bell took 2-39 for Ledbury.

In the Marches League Division Three, Almeley seconds beat Wormelow seconds by 7 wickets. Batting first Wormelow totalled 196-6 from their 40 overs.

Skipper Dan Hale (52) and Luke Jones (50) posting half centuries.

In reply an unbeaten century from Allan Williams (102no) with good support from Rob Williams (55) saw Almeley to victory in the 35th over.

In the Worcestershire County League despite scoring highly both Bromyard (254-7) and Colwall (229-7) were both beaten.

Brockhampton suffered a batting collapse as they posted 83 in reply to Redditch's 220-8.

In Division Two, Bartestree and Lugwardine Cricket Club were beaten while Burghill, Tillington and Weobley clinched a winning draw.
