WESTFIELDS manager Phil Glover says his side will be fired up for their local derby tie against Hereford Lads Club tomorrow.

Fields host their local Hellenic Premier rivals with just an alleyway separating the sides.

In the reverse fixture Westfields won 2-1 at Lads Club and are looking to complete a league double over their neighbours.

“We always know when we are playing local sides they raise their game," said Glover

“It’s always a good fixture, even more so Lads Club are now in our league. I’ve got a lot of respect for Danny Moon with the restraints that he’s got.

“Also Lads Club are good lads, hard working and every time they are on the pitch give their all. We won’t be taking them lightly, we will be preparing right and making sure we are good.

“I fully understand it’s a local derby and doesn’t come more local than an alleyway. All our lads will be fired up for it, as will I.”

Last weekend Lads Club played out a 2-2 draw with rivals Malvern Town.

After the game Lads Club manager Danny Moon criticised the referee with Glover saying his opposite number was playing ‘mind games’.

“I read what Dan mentioned about referees, he’s been around long enough to know to mention that a week before a derby is a bit of mind games, added Glover.

“On that front we’ve been on the end of some really bad decisions but we know how hard a job they do.

“Their one decision is either going to be good for us or the opposition so they are in a no-win situation.

“I hope we’ve got a strong referee who doesn’t get involved in that local rivalry and sees the game how it is.
