HEREFORD assistant manager Steve Burr says there are ‘one or two problems’ with Covid-19 in their squad ahead of the festive fixtures.

The Bulls are due to play at Kidderminster Harriers on Boxing Day before welcoming Gloucester City to Edgar Street on Tuesday.

Burr said the situation regarding Covid-19 amongst the squad will be clearer in the next 12 to 24 hours.

“We’ve got one or two problems going into the Boxing Day game,” said Burr.

“We will know a lot more over the next 24 hours. It’s frustrating. Up until now I suppose we have been generally okay.I

“With things happening on an enormous scale with this new variant it’s very difficult to know what’s going to happen over the evening.

“Friends, families, it seems to be hitting everybody and it is going through at a real pace. Who knows by tomorrow morning what the situation is going to be.

“Covid has reared its head a little bit and we’ll probably know over the next 12 to 12 hours the main situation with that.”

Burr is hopeful that Hereford have enough fit players and are able to fulfil the festive fixture list.

“I think it’s also regarding how many jabs you’ve had leading up to a game, if you’ve got so many players have gone down with it,” he added.

“I don’t know the actual rules thoroughly. Fingers crossed we can continue the Christmas period and get through that as I feel it’s always a really exciting time.

“The most important things are people’s safety. The last thing we want to be doing is going to Kiddy with any problems injury wise or illness wise.”
