HEREFORD fighters came away with a host of medals at the first National TAGB Tae Kwon Do Championships in two years.

The event attracted over 1,200 competitors with Hereford Tae Kwon Do having a mix of experienced and novice competitors coming away with an impressive 24 medals overall.

The stand out performances of the day were Oskaris Rackauskas, winning two golds in the boy's black belt division; Adam Janczewski, winning the black belt men's hand destruction in his first attempt.

Stefan Dragomir came away with seven medals overall, Shona Taylor and James Goodfellow, both coming away with silver medals in their respective categories on their first attempt.

Head coach David Sheppard, who also received his 8th Degree black belt during the event said: "I was expecting to come away with between five and 10 medals from this competition, due to the level of competition and lack of competition over the past two years, but was absolutely amazed at how well the students performed."
