HEREFORD manager Josh Gowling says he wants his side to be better despite beating Chester 1-0, his side’s fourth win on the bounce.

The win moved Hereford up to 13th and just three points outside the play-off positions.

Gowling felt his side should have taken more of their chances to make the victory more comfortable.

“We had some good chances in the first half and when you don’t take them you end up having a five minutes at the end like that,” said Gowling talking to Keith Hall.

“I thought we were a lot better in the second half. I thought Luke (Haines) was excellent with his goal and taking the pressure off the back four with his kicks.

“It was a pleasing performance overall. Although we win we want to be better and if we’d taken our chances we would have had a comfortable last five minutes."
