AN EXTRA mid-week match is due to give Hereford players a chance to shine ahead of Saturday's league visit of Chorley.

After Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Boston United, assistant manager Steve Burr said they had arranged a match for today (Tuesday).

The Bulls have added forward Pa Sulay Njie on a non-contract basis to their squad.

He joins fellow forward Victor Sodeinde who is also short of competitive match action.

The match has not been officially advertised and is set to be played behind closed doors.

"Pa is here to bolster the squad and has been with us for a few weeks, said assistant Bulls manager Steve Burr.

"We've not really seen enough of him yet. He's been in training and may get his opportunity quicker than he thinks.

"We'll monitor him. We're looking to have a game on Tuesday night and give one or two lads who need a game.

"He'll play in that so we can have a good look at him."

Midfielder Ryan Lloyd missed Saturday's trip to Boston United after catching Covid-19 while James Vincent has a 'calf issue'.

Meanwhile, defender Krystian Pearce returned to the bench at Boston and manager Josh Gowling is hoping he will play in the arranged match.

"Then he's ready to go on Saturday," added Gowling when interviewed before Saturday's game at Boston.
