THE Herefordshire County Athletics Championships were recently held over 5,000 metres; 10,000 metres and one mile recently.

Over the 5,000 metres Western Tempo dominated the men's event with Rhys Park taking the win in 15 minutes and 44.3 seconds ahead of team-mates Charlie Jones and Dan King.

Richard Hughes (Hereford Couriers) led the veteran's men's competition in 19-06.4 ahead of Wye Valley pair Daniel Lewis and Jeremy Jehan.

Hannah Hatch (Monross) was the senior women's in 23-42.9 victory with the veteran women's competition won by Faye Lewis (Hereford Couriers) 23-04.8 with team-mate Clare Sims in second and Becki Ansfield (Wye Valley) in third.

The 10,000 metres saw the senior men's victory go to Sam Butler (Presteigne Pacers) in 35 minutes and 44.1 seconds.

Luke Mason (Hereford Couriers) finished second and Gavin Jones (Monross) finished third.

In a repeat of the 5,000 metres Hughes was the quickest veteran in 35-53.9 ahead of Jehan and Lewis.

The one mile event for men was won by Luke Mason (Hereford Couriers) in four minutes 53.6 seconds.

Jehan was quickest veteran male, Matthew Brunnock (Hereford County AC) under-17 male and Henry White under-15 boy.

Hayley Lovett (Hereford Couriers) was quickest veteran woman; Eva Tyler (Hereford & County AC) fastest under-17 and Darcy Clarke quickest under-15 girl.
