A CELEBRITY football match is set to take place at Edgar Street in August aid of a Herefordshire charity.

The match is set to see the likes of television personality Calum Best, TOWIE reality star James Argent, EastEnders’ Jake Wood and 911’s James Constable grass the Hereford pitch on Sunday, August 8 (subject to availability).

Organised by company Sellebrity Soccer, the match in aid of Herefordshire Mind kicks off at 3pm, with all proceeds going to the charity.

OTHER NEWS:

Sellebrity Soccer have organised dozens of events since their founding in 2012, raising over £2 million for respective charities.

Herefordshire Mind fundraising manager Dave Harding spoke of his delight that the event will be in partnership with the charity.

“We first heard about the match in early April, and we got approached by the football club about the match. They were looking into hosting the match and were really keen to support Herefordshire Mind which we were obviously delighted about.

“It is very much about fundraising for the charity, but on the day we’d love to communicate our mental health messaging.

“We are going to be partnering with the Hereford Suicide prevention partnership to promote our work around our save haven service, as well as the key messaging that they are working on at the moment.

“One of the key sectors in our community that are at highest risk are middle aged men, so we particularly wanted to ensure that the messaging and signposting for mental health problems is clear and concise with help on hand locally.”
