COMPETITIVE Herefordshire sides were unfortunately left winless in the latest round of fixtures in the Worcestershire County Premier League.

Brockhampton fell 36 short of Astwood Bank’s 215 despite significant contributions from Max Foster (74) and Tom Austwick (56).

Bromyard were dismissed for 78 after an excellent bowling display limiting Bewdley to 140, including a five-for for Greg Leighton.

Colwall were also defeated by six wickets at the hands of Stourport-on-Severn.

Chaddesley Corbett comfortably won against Burghill, Tillington and Weobley in the division below, despite a battling 53* from Sam Johnston.

Eastnor picked up a 21-run victory in Division Four over Romsley and Hunnington. Tight, effective bowling from Raheel Lone (3-22), Michael Pearson (3-31) and Mohammed Munir (2-24) halted their hosts at 164, after they were set 185 to win.

Colwall’s second eleven faced a rampant West Malvern who, in just 45 overs, scored a mammoth 442-4. They put up a brave fight, scoring a very respectable 285 in reply, with Kit Lister top scoring (66).

We then saw four very tightly contested matches in the Marches Premier League go to the wire, including a dramatic one-wicket victory for Fownhope Strollers at Kington.

At Kennelfield, a depleted Wormelow completed another nerve-racking one wicket win over Goodrich.

Dales fell to a defeat by four wickets by Glangrwyney despite the efforts of two teenagers.

Charlie Stanik hit his first 50 as they posted a score of 199/9.

With the ball 15-year-old Lucas Jones displayed some excellent bowling with figures off 4 for 17 off eight overs as the youngsters showed their talents despite their side suffering a defeat.
