HEREFORD and County Athletics Club recently welcomed UK Athletics level three performance coach Deirdre Elmhirst to take a high jump masterclass.
Some of the best young athletes from the county gathered to receive the expert tuition.
Elmhirst is one of the UK’s top coaches, and currently trains the UK champion Joel Khan.
During the session she also helped Herefordshire's Pat Morgan who is England’s top ranked under-20 decathlete, despite only being 17 years old.
l Runners across Herefordshire are currently preparing for the Jon Ward Hereford 5k.
The race held on Sunday, August 15, is in memory of ex-Hereford Courier Jon Ward who sadly passed away in June 2020.
All profits from the race will be donated to charity.
Runners will complete two laps of the Bobblestock course starting at Hereford Racecourse.
