HEREFORD FC chairman Rob Crawford says the club is working closely with the ‘whole squad to keep the team together over the coming months’.

The National League North season has been classed as ‘null and void’ meaning Hereford will be without any league games until August.

Crawford said he has been impressed with the quality of football this season which has seen them lose just three of 13 league games and reach next Saturday’s FA Trophy quarter-final.

We are deeply saddened that the season has been cut short in this way. We can all agree that it has been a rollercoaster of a season that was challenging to plan effectively from one match to the next, let alone any further ahead,” Crawford told the club’s official website.

“This now gives us a chance to regroup and have even greater financial stability going into next season.

“The board have been impressed with the standard and quality of football this season and the positive cohesion within the team led by Josh and Steve.  We are working closely with the whole squad to keep the team together over the coming months, to press on next season and pick up where we left off.

“Firstly though, we have the small matter of the quarter final of the FA Trophy ahead of us next week.  Away to Aldershot Town is going to bring back memories for many fans. We have a strong team and, like you, we are looking forward to this match.  Even in these challenging circumstances over the past few weeks, Josh has remained focused and we wish him and the team all the best in this next step towards Wembley! No pressure!!”

Crawford also updated season ticket holders on the situation as most of this season has been played behind closed doors.

He added: “We have recently advised what will happen regarding season ticket refunds and reiterate that season ticket holders who used their season ticket for our home matches against AFC Fylde and/or Kidderminster Harriers will be offered a refund at the end of the season based on all games played behind closed doors.

“Season ticket holders who chose to defer their season ticket until next season (including those who have not informed us of their intention to defer, but who do not use their season ticket this season) will continue to have their season ticket deferred. More details will be released about this next week.”
