  • Stamford looked for a reply and a curling cross almost found Harry Vince, but the ball just eluded the forward.
  • The hosts had their best chance on 22 minutes when Connor Bartle has cut inside before forcing Brandon Hall into a fine save at the front post.
  • Stamford went event closer three minutes later with Tendai Chitiza drilling a cross to Cosmas Matwasa at the far post who blazed his effort over with the goal at his mercy.
  • Owen-Evans almost had a controversial second goal on 29 minutes when looking miles off-side he pulled the ball back and forced debutant Conrad Logan into a save.
  • Logan was forced into action again before the break getting his fingertips to a long range Chris Camwell effort which looked destined to nestle in the net.
  • Hereford had to defend solidly towards the end of the half with Jamie Grimes and Jared Hodgkiss both making blocks.
  • Ben Pollock then received a controversial straight red card for barging Harry Vince off the ball resulting in pushing between the players.
  • Moments earlier Vince had received a booking for a late challenge on the midfielder who has just returned back from injury.
  • The red card gave Stamford a lift and Bartle sent his effort just over the bar hitting the top of the netting.
  • Hereford responded and were only denied by a double Logan save with 18 minutes left.
  • First the debutant denied McQuilkin's floated effort and then Owen-Evans stabbed rebound at close range.
  • Hereford were unbelievably reduced to nine men on 75 minutes when Luke Haines was given a second yellow card for dissent.
  • Just a minute later Owen-Evans raced through on goal before doubling their lead.
  • Stamford threw everything forward and Bartle saw his volley whistle wide.
