- In response the Bulls saw Kyle Finn's cross deflect through to James McQuilkin who could only see his header fly wide.
- After probing the Bulls took an 18th minute lead when Jamie Grimes headed a short corner home at the back post.
- The Bulls doubled their lead seven minutes later when Kyle Finn's effort from 30 yards out took a deflection and flew into the net.
- At two goals down the Cambridgeshire visitors remained a threat and Liam Bennett crossed for a diving Ryan Robbins who should have scored but the ball skips away from him.
