- The Bulls started well and Yani Klukowski had the opportunity to give them a lead when a Dan Jones free-kick fell nicely for him inside the box, but his effort flew into a crowd of players.
- Moments later loanee Kelsey Mooney felt he deserved a penalty following a push in the back, but the referee waved away his appeal.
- Blyth had the chance to open the scoring on 14 minutes after Paul Blackett opened the visitors up before finding Thompson whose first effort was saved by a charging Paul White, before his rebound was fired over.
- Klukoski opened up the defence on 28 minutes and saw his low effort deflected to Tom Owen-Evans who sliced his effort at the goalkeeper.
- After the half-hour mark Hereford then scored two quick goals.
- Owen-Evans showed the warning signs crossing for Lenell John-Lewis, but his effort was bundled away.
- However, moments later Hereford had their 33rd minute open when a quick Dan Jones corner was met by Owen-Evans.
- Two minutes later Owen-Evans doubled his side's tally curling the ball past the goalkeeper.
- Before the break the Bulls could have furthered their lead with Klukoski beating the defence and cutting the ball back from the byline, but his pass back was cleared.
- Blyth had their goalkeeper to thank for keeping them in the tie as he denied Klukoski with a full-stretch save.
- At the other end Hereford failed to clear their lines allowing Elsdon to send his volley inches wide.
- Blyth were having their best spell of the tie and Guy was found unmarked inside the box, but sent his close range effort over.
- However, it was the Bulls who sealed the points with a third goal.
- With 18 minutes remaining the defence backed off the marksman who took advantage and rifled his shot home.
