LADS Club gained pole position in the Hellenic Division One West after a late double from substitute Tom Bendall saw them come from behind to take a 2-1 win over county rivals Wellington.

The outcome looked to be heading in a different direction after Luke Griffiths put his side ahead on the 29th minute.

However, substitute Bendall equalised from the penalty spot with six minutes remaining before firing home a late winner.

League rivals Malvern Town suffered a 2-0 defeat at Thornbury Town leaving Lads Club to gain pole position in the league.

Elsewhere, Westfields lost their third game on the trot with a 2-1 away defeat at local rivals Lydney Town.

Against the run of play the hosts took the lead when they broke away on the left hand side and from a good cross Brad Kear was on hand to stab the ball home from close range.

The second half saw Westfields respond and Dan Stoneman pulled a goal back after being played through by Paul Hurrell.

Westfields then threw everything at the Lydney goal forcing the goalkeeper into two saves then Ben Miller fired over the bar.

With just six minutes remaining Lydney struck the winner with Kear netting from close range.
