WITH the HFA County League kicking off this weekend and a large amount of regular football activity now taking place each week, it’s really starting to feel that things are edging back to normality across football. The effort that has been put in from everyone involved at clubs and leagues to get things back up-and-running has been exceptional and I know that this has been really appreciated from the feedback that we have been getting from the game. It’s been great to see people able to get back to doing what they love the most and even better to see them do so safely, in accordance with the FA’s Covid-19 guidance. It’s been another really busy month at the HFA which has seen the normal close-season period condensed into a matter of weeks, in terms of getting everything set up for the new season.

Our Football Services team has been working flat out with club volunteers to ensure that everything is ready to go and it’s been really positive to see that process go well. We’ve also been really busy working behind the scenes on a couple of exciting announcements, which have just been released.

It’s been great to be able to confirm that, not only will the finals of Men’s County Challenge Cup and Giantkillers Cup’s be returning to Edgar Street, but for the first time we’ll be adding the Women’s County Cup Final, as a double-header.

We are really grateful to Hereford FC for working with us to ensure this was possible. With the women and girl’s game going from strength to strength, I think is a real sign of its development in the county and I’m really looking forward to the finals, which should be a great event. We’ve also just announced an exciting opportunity to win sponsorship rights for all of our cups, for just £25.

The winner will also receive a finals package for all the events at Edgar Street and each entrant will have their business promoted by us.

Details are on our website and all proceeds will be reinvested into grassroots football.
