PROFESSIONAL golfer Oliver Farr recorded his best ever result on the European Tour finishing tied third in the Hero Open last weekend.

Taking place at the Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel and Country Club near Birmingham the Burghill Valley GC player posted rounds of -7, -1, -5 and -1 which saw him finish on 14 under par in third place along with two other players.

In a tight final round, Farr eagled the par five 7th and held second place on his own until the 11th where his tee shot ended off the fairway on the right, behind trees which led him to record a double bogey.

A long putt on the par five 17th saved his par after he had put his second shot in the water attacking the pin, which had been cut tight to the lake.

An excellent long putt from the front to the back of the green on the 18th gave him a tap in putt for his par to finish on one under for the final day.

The tournament started a busy month for Farr who will be back in European Tour action this weekend competing in the English Championship before taking part in the Celtic Challenge, the Wales Open and UK Championship.
