SPORTS clubs across the county are beginning to welcome back their members to training and action, while sticking to the Government's guidelines.

Burghill Tillington and Weobley Cricket Club are offering free junior coaching for the rest of the season to help get youngsters back into the sport.

Following recent changes in Government guidance allowing small groups to train outside the juniors recently commenced training again.

Over three 90 minute sessions 53 juniors from the under-11s to under-15s got their training underway.

The fitness sessions also included batting, bowling and fielding drills with a real emphasis on having some cricket fun.

Steve De Souza, club chairman said: "It's important for the club that we get juniors taking part in some cricket to keep them interested in the sport.

"We await a decision from the Government and the ECB as to when we can start adult cricket but we hope it is very soon."

Any junior who is not already a member of a cricket club and would like to know more about joining Burghill this season can get in touch with Kirsty Sockett on sockos@btinternet.com.
