COMPETITIVE golf action is returning to clubs across Herefordshire while keeping to social distancing guidelines.
Ross Golf Club is one of the many clubs where members have returned to the greens.
The club's ladies section is has reinstated their ladies' summer knockout competitions alongside their Tuesday ladies' day with a variety of weekly competitions including a monthly stableford and medal
Lady Captain Mary Smith said: "The Covid pandemic came just as we were looking forward to playing in drier spring conditions.
"It was a huge shock and a disappointment but we all realised that lockdown was the only way to reduce the spread of the virus.
"With a number of members in the older age bracket who are at higher risk, it was and still is an anxious time hoping that everyone manages to stay well.
"Now as we begin to emerge from lockdown, it is exciting to return to our usual.
"Ross Golf Club is a very popular club for visiting players and we all enjoy inviting friends to play in our invitation and open competitions."
Ross Ladies are organising three open competitions: Ladies Opens on July 30, an Eclectic Competition on September 15 and the Senior Ladies Open on October 15 plus the Ross Ladies Invitation Day on August 25.
Information is available on the Ross Golf Club website for all of these competitions.
