FORMER England international footballer Paul Merson will be talking about the highs and lows of his career during a chat followed by a question and answer session at Edgar Street.

'An Evening with Paul Merson' will take place on Friday, February 19, in the RE Resource Hereford Suite at the home of Hereford FC, with a 7.30 pm start and tickets costing £30 per person.

Merson, who is now a television pundit, made 21 appearances for England and played his domestic football for Arsenal, Aston Villa and Walsall amongst others.

A statement on the Hereford FC website said: "You will be able to come and see Paul in person as he talks about the euphoric highs and occasionally crushing lows of his career and life.

"You will then get the chance to ask Paul any questions relating to his football career and Harry’s Heroes, or most other things come to that!

"Finally, you can come and meet Paul, have a photo taken and get your items signed.

"This will be a truly unforgettable night, all for just £30 with funds raised on the night helping Hereford FC."

Hereford FC General Manager James Watts said the club are partnering with Purple Sector Events to bring Paul Merson to Edgar Street.

"In the current climate, we have to look at ways to generate extra revenue for Hereford FC and events like this are a perfect way to do so," said Mr Watts.

Purple Sector Events owner Keiron McGill added: “We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Hereford FC on this truly special event, and we hope this proves to be a huge success for the club.

"We are passionate about helping clubs that are at the centre of their communities, especially during these tough times where there has been precious little income while the overhead costs have remained. This event will be one that is talked about for years to come and we hope that you can come and support it and help the club to thrive."
