HEREFORD LADS Club manager Danny Moon says it's down to his players what they want to achieve this season.

Jamie Cuthbertson headed Lads Club to a 2-1 victory over promotion rivals Malvern Town on Saturday, moving them up to third in the Hellenic One West.

Of their 12 remaining league games nine are at the County Ground on the 3G surface.

"We have got Pegasus to play in April but apart from the everybody else is below us," said Moon.

"It's down to us what we achieve at the end of the season. When we have dropped points it's because we probably haven't been switched on but the experience we have brought in has made a difference."

Despite going behind at promotion favourites Malvern Town, Moon's side responded in emphatic style with Oliver Price firing them level after the break before Cuthbertson's header sealed the points.

"We were confident with what we had got before the game, it was whether the players decided to turn it on," added Moon.

"For a good part of the game we were good and we did as much as we could do, a result is a result.

"We dominated the first 25 minutes and could have been three or four goals up if we had taken our chances.

"Then we lost Kiea Cowley-Hair to a fractured ankle after 25 minutes. That probably took 20 minutes to adapt to that change and they scored.

"We made a change in shape at half-time and despite playing against the wind we did enough to win the game.

"I said to Jamie (Cuthbertson) to get around the back and it was a good header to be fair (for the winning goal).

"Everybody else did their job and we saw the game out comfortably, although it didn't feel like it at the time."
