THE DUO of Hugh Elliott and Ian McKavney proved a formidable one as they took victory in the Ross Golf Club's latest competition.
The men's senior members aged over-55 gathered recently in perfect conditions for the16 holes better-ball stableford event, with 32 pairings taking part.
Elliott and McKavney were the ideal combination putting together a score-card showing eight pars and a birdie with both enjoying an equal share of highly effective play and good fortune.
Their 43 stableford points score from 16 holes was always likely to top the final results table and so it proved.
The recognised consistent performers in Tim Fewell and David Holborow came closest in second with 41 points.
Peter Chapman and Steve Phillips finished third with 40 points.
It is hoped that Wednesday, March 11, will also provide good conditions when the senior's final winter competition, a three-man team Florida scramble will be on the menu and a step closer to the start of their comprehensive summer programme of events and activities.
