LADS Club manager Danny Moon praised his side after they showed their class during a 9-0 demolition of a depleted Holme Lacy side in the Herefordshire FA County Challenge Cup.

Moon's side, who showed their clinical nature at times, will now host Hereford FC in the quarter-finals, on a date to be decided.

"We were in a no win situation, if we don't score the nine then people say why haven't we, the boys were brilliant," said Moon.

"To be fair to Holme Lacy they kept working hard and made it hard, there was a difference in standard and at the end of the day and you have to give all of the plaudits to them.

"You have to maintain standards and that's something we are trying to do here at the moment. The boys have done well today and remained as focused as they could be."

Lacy were depleted by injuries and unavailability meaning just four of their first team were involved in the tie.

However, Lads Club put in an unforgiving performance and took a third minute lead with Tom Bendall crashing his volley in off the underside of the bar.

James Hancocks scored a second minutes later before turning provider for Tom Dawson to put his side 3-0 up in 10 minutes.

James Fennessy was next in on the action with a quick brace. However, Lacy goalkeeper Tom Morgan then kept the hosts out and kept the score down to 5-0 at the break.

Straight from the second half kick-off Justin Halfpenny had the visitors best attempt but fired inches wide.

Lads Club then continued control with Hancocks netting his second of the evening before Liam Jones headed in a seventh.

Adam Newbury then found the net with an excellent strike before Nick Britton completed the scoring.
