HEREFORD Lads Club got off to a perfect start on the County Ground's new 3G facility with a 2-1 win over Tytherington Rocks on Saturday.

Despite not having played a competitive match since December 4, Danny Moon's side started strongly and Tom Bendall saw his penalty claims waved away.

Adam Hockey was next to worry the visitors with a dangerous cross which was cleared away.

The opener came before the break with Gareth Bowley taking the honour of scoring the first goal on the new surface.

After the break Bendall saw an effort ruled out for off-side as he continued to probe.

A second Lads Club goal looked to have secured the win as Adam Newbury picked out the head of Jamie Cuthbertson.

However, Tytherington responded through Andy Peterson to give themselves a chance going into the dying moments.

But it was Lads Club who hung on in their first home game of the season to win 2-1 in front of 83 fans.

Moon's side will be hoping to continue their winning form when they host struggling Bourton Rover this weekend.
