FORMER team-mates from a Herefordshire Sunday League side joined back together for a reunion recently.

Ross-on-Wye based Corinthians were formed in the 1974-75 season and played three seasons.

The side were based at the Hope and Anchor pub.

During this time the side was so popular that one season they fielded a reserve side.

Brian Jenkins organised a re-union of the side who gathered to play walking football in the morning at John Kyrle High School.

In the evening the former team-mates reminisced about their playing days at the Hope and Anchor.

Amongst those who attended was former Hereford Times News Editor Clive Joyce and former Sports Editor Nigel Heins.

"Most people turned up and the pub was quite full right until the end of the evening," said Jenkins.

"It was a really good evening and everybody also enjoyed the walking football."

Jenkins organised the event after hearing that former player Fred Jones wasn't very well.

Sadly while the re-union was being organised Fred passed away, however they went ahead and carried out the event in his memory as a tribute evening.
