SAM Archer-Plane made a winning return to Wellington as his side beat Tytherington Rocks 2-0.

Despite dominating possession it took until the 53rd minute for Wellington to break the deadlock when Glenn Segust broke in from the right and fired home.

Rob Whitlock then sealed the victory 15 minutes later finding the net with a rare header.

"It should have been a bit more comfortable but they kept us to two," said Wellington manager Gary Stevens.

"In the first half we monopolised possession but couldn't seem to score.

"Once we got the first one we could have got several more. We got the second and were comfortable from then on.

"It was great to get Sam Archer-Plane in place of Jack Lewis, who has moved on to Pegasus.

"We are delighted to get him in and it was a bonus that he played a full game on Saturday.

"I've know Sam since he was a kid, I think he's a very good player and it's great to get him back.

"With Sam Pearson also returning to play 70 minutes after being out with a hamstring it gave us a decent squad of players to pick from.

"All in all it was a good day."
