DEFENDER Sam Archer-Plan has moved from Westfields and signed for local rivals Wellington.

Plane, from Leominster, has been at Westfields since moving from Wellington after impressing in 2015.

The full-back has been a leading figure in the Fields defence in recent seasons.

“I just want to play regular football as Westfields have got a big squad and not everybody is going to play every game,” said Plane.

“I was at Westfields for four years and the FA Cup run was good and memorable, but now I just want to play.

“I was at Wellington since the age of 16 and left to play a step higher with Westfields and it’s nice to join up with Gary Stevens again.

“The aim is to play as many games as I can and help them up the league hopefully.”

A message on the Westfields Twitter account said: "We are disappointed to report that defender Sam Plane is leaving Fields and making a move to Wellington in search of more regular games.

“A favourite with many of our supporters we are disappointed to see him go and wish him all the best.”
