HEREFORD FC are due to hold an ‘in-house’ pitch inspection ahead of tomorrow’s scheduled match against Alfreton.
A statement on the club’s website said: “With the current heavy rain forecast across Herefordshire overnight and into tomorrow morning, we’d like to reassure supporters that we are keeping a close eye on the condition of the pitch and that we remain hopeful that the game will go ahead.
“At the time of this update (6:45pm Friday evening), we’re pleased to report that the pitch is in good condition. Groundsman Ben Bowen has prepared the playing surface and verti-drained the pitch to try and help with drainage.
“At 9am on Saturday morning we will hold an in-house inspection of the pitch and provide a further update to all relevant parties at that time.”
Westfields are also holding a pitch inspection at 8.30am tomorrow ahead of their home game against Easington Sports (3pm).
Due to the amount of rain today we will be holding a pitch inspection 8-30am in the morning #fingerscrossed
