- The Bulls almost got off to the dream start when within the opening minute Jordan Nicholson pulled the ball back for Peter Vincenti whose effort was saved from Joe Green.
- However, Bradford took a ninth minute lead when their visitors switched off from a free-kick and Adam Nowakowski bundled home from close range.
- Liam Hughes should have doubled Bradford's lead on 16 minutes but sent his free header wide.
- Just as the Bulls had looked to have played their way back into the tie they were hit by a sucker punch.
- Alex Hurst crossed to Lewis Knight, who despite having his back to goal, hooked his effort over Hall and into the net.
- Hereford responded and Tom Owen-Evans was through on goal when he was brought down inside the box.
- Peter Vincenti made no mistake from the penalty spot and fired his side back into the tie.
- However, early in the second half Hall played himself back into trouble when he came charging out but missed the ball only for Jack Bodenham to clear the danger.
