HEREFORD Racecourse holds its first meeting of the new season on Tuesday, and chief executive Rebecca Davies says the track is becoming a real testing ground for upcoming horses.
The Hereford jump racing season gets underway with the Cider and Sausage Raceday on Tuesday with seven jump races, first race at 2pm.
"We have seven races and it's a good grass roots day of racing at Hereford," said Davies.
"Our season is from October to March which is the core jump racing season.
"All the horses will now be prepared and I'm looking forward to seeing which novice horses show their potential.
"A lot of trainers like Hereford as it's a fair track and gallops.
"It's nice to see the horses run who are unheard of at the start of the season and how they progress.
"It's an exciting time."
