LUCTONIANS will be searching for a first home win of the season when they welcome Loughborough Students to Mortimer Park on Saturday.

Last weekend Ryan Watkins' side suffered their fourth defeat in the opening five matches when they were beaten 62-10 at Caldy.

Head coach Watkins has targeted wins at home as vital to a successful season.

"We need to get that home win on the board," said Watkins.

"Our progress this season depends on our home form and we have got to get that right.

"Loughborough have got areas for us to attack. However, they are virtually a full-time team so will be fit and skilful, but we need to play our own game."

Last weekend Luctonians put up an early fight before suffering a heavy defeat at Caldy.

Josh Phipps scored and converted his own try to put the visitors ahead early in the tie.

However, Caldy swiftly punished the visitors mistakes and had a 29-10 lead at half-time before adding a further 33 points in the second half.

"We started off brightly and scored a very good try," added Watkins.

"However, I think it was just a matter of time before they scored as we were really just containing them.

"They punished us but we gave away the ball too cheaply.

"They are a very good team but we showed them far too much respect which was the disappointing thing.

"That was the biggest disappointment from the game.

"They are a strong side but at the same time there are parts of our game that should have been better. There was a lot of unforced errors and we gave possession away cheaply."
