HEREFORD Pegasus have made some new signings to boost their Hellenic League One West promotion credentials.

Paul Jones has switched from Herefordshire rivals Wellington while defender Dan Price has returned to the club.

Jones marked his debut with a goal in Peggy's 6-1 league win over Bourton Rovers on Tuesday night.

"Paul is a very good signing for us, he's an exciting player and he chips in with goals, said Pegasus' joint manager Mick Panniers.

"We are hoping he might score 15 goals this season for us, we needed more goals from our wide men.

"We have also signed Dan (Price) who played for us a couple of years ago and is a good addition.

"We are hoping he will provide that bit of experience although he hasn't played for a couple of years."

On Saturday Pegasus suffered a second league defeat of the season, 5-3 at Thornbury Town.

They responded perfectly on Tuesday night with another new signing Tom Boyle netting a hat-trick in their 6-1 win while Jones, Levi Ellis and Zac Sirrell all contributed with goals.

"Tom (Boyle) is a first class goal scorer," added Panniers.

"We are trying to build a squad that can push for promotion this year.

"We have had a couple of hiccups, in both of our away league defeats we have conceded five goals.

"If we are scoring three goals away from home we shouldn't be losing so we've made a couple of signings to try and put that right.

"We created more chances in both games so hopefully with Paul (Jones) and Tom (Boyle) in we can finish off all the good work."

Meanwhile, Thornbury also sent Lads Club to their first league defeat of the season, beating them 2-0 on Tuesday night.
