A HEREFORDSHIRE student competed against a national representative side recently.
Jamie Harris, a Year 11 student at John Kyrle High School, recently represented the Mercian Development Academy (MDA) under-16s against Scotland Rugby League under-16s in Wigan.
The Mercian Development Academy is a Category Three Rugby Football League Academy based in Malvern, Worcestershire.
The tie was a chance for the academy to play against a national representative side who resource players from across the UK.
The Mercian Development Academy rose to the challenge and were 10-4 up at half-time.
Scotland came back in the second half and the sides were level at 22-22 with seconds remaining on the clock.
However, the Mercian Development Academy conceded a try in the last play of the game to lose 28-22.
