GREYHOUND Ladies had a tough start to their Women's NC1 West campaign with a local derby defeat against Drybrook.
With their opponents coming down from a higher league and Greyhound promoted last term it was always going to be a tough afternoon.
Despite competing against a tough pack the Greyhound defence stood firm.
Gaps were eventually found as the hosts ran over their tries.
In the second half Greyhound were rewarded for their efforts with winger Meg Turton using her pace to cross the whitewash twice and Laura Jenkins slotting over one conversion.
The final score was 43-12 to Drybrook. Greyhound are in action at home this Sunday (September 15) against Sutton Coldfield Ladies.
