REIGNING GB Liners Marches League Division One title holders Luctonians top the table with three games remaining.

Despite initially being cut adrift of the leading pack the Mortimer Park side have responded with a string of wins.

Their latest came on a blustery day when only themselves and title challengers Wormelow got their matches on to take a haul of points.

Strollers had got off to a good start at Luctonians as Richard Lerego (15) and Daniel Powell (38) put on 50 for the opening wicket.

However, Lucs soon hit their stride and skittled their opposition out for 141.

A worn wicket gave Strollers some hope, but didn't challenge James Platford (46) and Will Maund (77) as their side reached the target without losing a single wicket for a maximum points win.

Wormelow saw their tie against fellow title rivals Garnons reduced to 20 overs due to the wet weather.

Wormelow won the toss and batted first, scoring 122, on a slow pitch and outfield.

Elliott Williams top scored with 28 and was ably supported by captain Tom Cutler (22) as the pair looked to bolster the score.

Stuart Griffiths (3-21) helped to stem the run flow and was well backed up by Alan Jones (2-24).

Despite opener Joel Alderson’s best effort (29) the away side's run chase never really got going. Williams capped off a fine day, with figures of 2-10 as he saw his team over the line to a valuable victory.

Luctonians have moved top on 292 points with Wormelow seven points behind in second and Garnons a further two points adrift.
