A NEW track two miles west of Leominster will be hosting harness racing this Sunday.

Hereford & Borders Harness Racing Club is holding its final fixture of the season at Ivingtonbury Farm (HR6 0JS), close to the junction of the A44.

The meet will feature the hotly anticipated BHRC Chairman's Cup, with five heats and the final.

The last fixture saw the track record broken by Talavary Motavator, with a very impressive time of 2:02.8 on the grass track.

Talavary driven by trainer Michael O'Mahony managed to hold on by a head to win the electric paced Grade 1-3, after being pushed hard by Rhyds Adora.

This Sunday’s fixture sees the final race of the Gwyne Higgins Memorial Young Drivers Series. Chloe Wakefield currently sits in first place with a win and second place on the board. Fflur Jones will be looking to lift the trophy after an impressive start to the series, beating Chloe by six and half lengths driving My Buddy.

Jaimie Davis is the current leading driver of the H&BHRC fixtures with three wins so far and looks set improve on this Sunday.

With the ever growing popularity of harness racing it is set to be a fantastic family day out for horse racing fans and the last chance to see harness racing this year at Ivingtonbury.

Entry is £10 and children go free. Gates open at 10.30am with the first race 2pm.

Bookmakers, a bar and catering will be available. For more information visit the @hbhrc facebook page.
