A COUNTY darts player has qualified to represent Wales at the Junior World Darts Championship, just one-and-a-half years after his first competition.
Nathan Hanrahan, from Peterchurch, has been selected to compete in a trio of major competitions taking place in Gibraltar.
The JDC'S three major competitions: the World Cup, European Open and the finals of the Junior World Darts Championship, will be held over three days in a purpose built facility ahead of the PDC'S Gibraltar Darts Trophy.
Hanrahan sporting journey began playing in the Monday night league for his local pub.
After winning most of his matches and the under-21 competition within the league the youngster was then selected to play for Gwent.
He helped them to beat Bristol 3-2 in the first match before losing to Glamorgan by the same score-line in the second.
Despite only being 16 years old Hanrahan won one of the five selection spots at a qualifying competition recently.
Hanrahan is currently looking for any potential sponsors to help his journey which sees him play in competitions across the country.
