JOSH Gowling will once again don the captain's armband for Hereford this season, but said it doesn't mean he's the only leader in the side.

Since signing for Hereford in December, Gowling made 22 appearances last season and was reguarly captaining the side.

The central defender has told the club's official website it was an honour to "lead men".

“The great thing about that squad is that there are a lot of leaders," the 35-year-old centre-back said.

"Obviously, I’ve got the armband, but there are a lot of characters out there that can lead this dressing room, lead this team. Just because I’ve got the armband doesn’t mean that everyone else can’t lead.

“As I’ve got older I think I’ve got more determined to win things, I won promotion with Grimsby which has given me that burning desire to go and win something else.

This season we really want to have a push and I just can’t wait to get going.”
